Monte De Oro Winery

A member-owned estate whose tasting hall looks down — literally, through a glass floor — onto the barrel room below.

Architectural gestures in wine country are usually just gestures. This one earns itself. Standing over a working cellar while you drink what came out of it collapses the distance between the pretty half of a winery and the industrial half, which most properties work quite hard to keep apart.

Before you drive This page is an independent guide, not the winery. Hours, tasting fees and reservation rules change season to season — and several rooms are reservation-only on weekends. Check Monte De Oro Winery’s own site or call before building the day around it.
